June 9th, 1782: Peter Fisher was born on Staten Island, where his parents were camped with the New Jersey Volunteers loyalist regiment (224 years ago).

12 May 2006 Connell stamp proofs sell at auction for $32,000. Connell was the husband of Anne Fisher and Postmaster General of New Brunswick, until scandal forced him to resign in 1860. Read the CBC story here and the history of the Connell stamp at right.
